We will begin the meeting with presentations to several award winners from the past season, and then continue with our information session for club board members and lead volunteers. The topic of this meeting is Club 101.

Meeting Details:

The meeting will be held in Multipurpose Room 3, located upstairs in the mezzanine of rink 2 (MP3).

Five positions are open for election this year - Chair, Vice-Chair and three Directors. Four positions are two-year terms; one Director position is a one-year term. Please complete and return a nomination form if you would like to run for an open position.

In addition to regular AGM business. we will be honouring our BC Coast Regional Champions and Annual Award Recipients on this occasion. This year we are also very fortunate to welcome two outstanding guest speakers: 2024 Canadian Men's Champion Wesley Chiu and his coach Keegan Murphy from the Connaught Skating Club in the BC Coast Region!

While each club holds one vote for the purpose of conducting the business of the meeting, we welcome all interested club members to join us to celebrate the achievements of our Region skaters, and to participate in the AGM. Pre-registration is required (see link below).

ViaSport is hosting an update on the Community Gaming Grants program which will be of interest to clubs in our Region. Most clubs rely on gaming grants to operate, and its important to stay up-to-date on the Community Gaming Grants program. An overview of the program will be provided during the webinar, including details of the changes and updates this year, and there will also be an opportunity to ask questions.

This is one of a series of presentations hosted by ViaSport and the BC Government; there have been a number of interesting and relevant webinars over the course of the last year. We encourage all clubs to subscribe to the ViaSport emails to stay informed about these opportunities.

Meeting will be held on Zoom. Special guest Colleen Laferriere will discuss building strategies for building a STAR Synchro program at the club level. Details and meeting link to follow.

Planned program sheets for all free skate and artistic events except star 1,2,3 & 4 must be submitted online to the BC Coast Region, Wufoo website, by Friday, November 16, 2022. Click here to enter planned program information.

The BC Coast Region & Jingle Blades use Wufoo for online registration. All registrations must be completed using this online system.

The registration system will generate an automatic email to the skater. Coaches are encouraged to check the confirmation email to ensure their skater(s) is registered in the correct event. If skaters are unsure of what to enter in the various entry form fields, please contact your coach.

There is no login required to fill out the Wufoo Competition form. Skaters enter their information in all the required fields and then click "Submit". After clicking the submit button skaters will be taken to PayPal to pay their competition registration fee. All skaters must pay their competition entry fee through PayPal. Please note that it is not necessary to have a PayPal account to complete the registration process.

We are pleased to welcome you to our first in-person Club Engagement Meeting of the new skating season!

We will be reporting on our own BC Coast Region plans and activities for the upcoming season, and also providing an opportunity for learn more about the substantial changes coming to the competition schedule in BC. We will also be recognizing our Region Award winners from the past season during this meeting.

Joining us from the BC/YT Section, Chairman Hilary Quick and Director of Operations Danielle Williams will be on hand to answer questions and provide more details following the Sections’s September 15th Town Hall meeting. BC Coast Region is pleased to be resuming our Skater Development initiatives, with our annual Welcome Back Seminar. This seminar is open to all athletes in the STARSkate stream within the BC Coast Region. Skaters will be divided into two groups: STAR 1-4 and STAR 5-Gold.

On-ice sessions will include edges and turns, jumps, and synchronized skating. Off-ice sessions will include warm-up strategies and jumps. 

Join us for a fun-filled day! Please register early to avoid disappointment.

The 2022 Annual General Meeting of the BC Coast Region Skate Canada is set for Tuesday April 12th on Zoom. Our Guest Speaker is ISU Technical Specialist Kelly Cruikshank. Kelly had the privilege of officiating at this year’s Winter Olympic Games and will be sharing some of his experiences at the Games with us.
